Story Boarding

Hello Bloggers and welcome back! Today, we are going to be focusing on this great way to show and visually contextualize scenes which is called storyboarding. I personally enjoyed it especially since I like to see things more visually explained, this is a great way to express different scenes and the emotions and intimacy behind them. I have learned that drawing these scenes out helps to really see the impact behind these different scenes. Also, showing the different emotions happening and elaborating on them is really important in storyboarding as well. Some challenges that I experienced when doing the storyboard were the drawings in general and showing the meaning behind the scene in detail but, I enjoyed that we are able to comment about the scene and put signals to show the meaning behind it. Overall, I believe that storyboarding is such a great tool to help others see what is going on in these scenes and express different emotions even better.

      Movie Clip

Here are examples of a storyboard that I made over a movie clip which I will link below, and basically this is a horror film where I took scenes within the clip and visually showed what is going on. This is really the essence of a storyboard to help illustrate different scenes and show the context behind what is happening. In addition, in the storyboard, I also included different shots and mise-en-scene components within the clip, as well as different little notes to help show the context of the scene and to help create a better understanding. At the beginning of this film, we have a girl who thinks she is crushing a sunflower, which is on a wood-board, but she is actually going to put her hand in a nail but she does not know this. The mother goes to check on her and sees a note, and she rushes outside where her daughter already hit her hand and she is shocked about what is happening. Finally, it ends with the two of them terrified as ever and they use a wide shot to capture everything that is happening and the setting.
