Classmate Critique

Hello Bloggers, I recently commented on two of my fellow classmates blogs, Marcus Cheeatow and Sofia Ali, from the Camera Angle and Shots videos we did last week. Some of the shots that Marcus had done was a Two Shot, an over-the-shoulder shot, a low-angle shot, and a medium shot. I really enjoyed how he really captured the pondering emotions behind the two gentlemen in the video to really emphasize them thinking about something. With the over-the-shoulder shot, I really enjoyed how he presented the intimacy between the two gentlemen, to really express the feelings behind the shot. I also loved how he captured the low-angle shot to capture these two people with the intent of showing things like having great power. He also captured the Medium shot really good, to show the characters movements better. Good Job Marcus, you did really good in this assignment with capturing these shots.

Some of the shots that Sofia filmed were the follow shot and the full shot. I love how for the follow shot she really showed the serious emotions behind the scene and how she had created more of an intense moment. In the full shot, Sofia did an amazing job outlining the background to really give off the aspects of the setting and I had really enjoyed this as well. Great job Sofia, you did an awesome job on filming these shots. They both did an amazing job of creating those shots to really show the essence behind them. That's all I have for now, see you in the next blog post!

Camera Shots and Angles

Hello Bloggers and Welcome back! Today I have compiled 5 different videos that I will share with you that show different Camera Shots and Angles. Below you will see lots of different shots such as an over-the-shoulder shot, a low-angle shot, an extreme close-up shot, a follow shot, and a POV shot. You will see the true meaning behind these shots and the experiences in developing these shots.

This is my first shot and it is called an Over-the-shoulder shot, and as you can see it is used to really show us the point of view of the character and what they are looking at but still having them in the shot. This shot really captures a conversation great and the background of a scene to help you feel the scene as the character is feeling.

This next shot is called a Point of View shot or POV shot and it is used to allow us to see into the character's perspective. This scene can be used in many different circumstances like for horror movies and it really just helps to capture that emotion or feeling of what is going on.

This shot is known as a tracking/crab shot, and basically just follows the character's movements. This is crucial for lots of different scenes like if someone is getting chased, you can use this to show intense emotion of the character

This shot is called a low-angle shot and is filmed from a low point, looking up at the character. It is used to make you feel that the character is larger than he or she may really be to show many different attributes such as being heroic or important. This is used in lots of movies such as The Incredibles.

This shot is called an Extreme Close-Up shot and is used to magnify small details such as the character's eye. This helps to give off reactions in most cases to help you feel what the character is feeling.

Introduction to AICE Media Studies

Hello, my name is Justin Ingleton and I am currently a Junior at Everglades High School, aspiring to be a Pediatrician one day. I was born in Stuart, FL, and I grew up in Port St. Lucie, FL. My parents are from Jamaica and immigrated to the U.S., both at very young ages. My current hobbies are playing tennis, listening to music, writing, and watching movies. Also, for fun, I enjoy going on runs with my family and going to the beach or pool. I am currently volunteering at my local Children's Hospital and I really enjoy making a difference in these kids lives and trying to take them away from whatever health issues they are facing. I enjoy going to church and helping out in many different initiatives that they offer. As I am moving through my high school journeys, I really enjoy the opportunities that I have been offered and I hope to do more to gain experience and give back to the community.

I have chosen to take AICE Media Studies because as a kid I have been really interested in the background of production, especially watching lots of YouTube Vlogs and movies, this desire has really grown greater for me. I am so happy to learn more about the different aspects with learning more about cameras and how to use them as well. Also, me and my mom have enjoyed different things like nature photography, so to be able to do this course will give us both a great opportunity to learn more. I have been so satisfied with superhero production corporations and their process with creating movies. Plus, I would love to learn more in the aspects of editing. This course looks super appealing to me and I can't wait to uncover more about different things in Media.
