Day 3 Of Shooting Forsaken!!!

Greetings bloggers and welcome back! Today, it's that time that we are continuing to film Forsaken but we have a huge announcement to tell you guys...We are finished filming Forsaken!!! We are really excited with our final product of this opener and we are excited to let you guys know that we have already started our editing process as well! We are beyond excited to get the final product out to you guys so join us today as we discuss our last day on set of Forsaken!!!

We had such a great outcome today and it was just an incredibly calm and smooth atmosphere to really wrap up everything! The real focus that we were trying to have was actually capturing the excitement and vibrancy that this scene had to offer, I discussed before that this was one of my favorite scenes in planning and the filming was even more incredible. We see our characters having such fun interactions as well and having that playful environment on top of it! You can just see the excitement throughout their faces with all the laughter and cheerful conversations they are having, this was like the best day ever with friends from both the narrative and even behind the camera! We did choose to keep the ending scene from our initial draft as we felt it was perfect and really grasps the whole atmosphere of this opener. We were so excited that we did get to utilize a part from our initial segment in the final product and that it worked so well with maintaining the original charm and impact that we were going for.

The only difficulty which was very minor was that when arriving at the mall, our guest actor, Raul, was sadly running late due to traffic. Fortunately, we still were able to have a great filming day and it did not impact our production day. We had planned to meet between 2:30PM and 3:00PM and Raul did not make it till around 3:15PM. We found ourselves very impatient waiting for Raul as we were so thrilled to wrap up filming and luckily we still had an amazing outcome today!

We are so happy to announce this time around we did not go through many obstacles that we had faced in the other two days. But we had a huge setback. We had surpassed the time that our opener was supposed to be so unfortunately, we did have to cut one of the scenes out which was the characters roaming through the shops in the mall. But don't fear because even though we did go through this, the opener is still really amazing and is better than we could even expect!

Specifically, we did have to cut the shopping scenes to keep the film clear and concise. But it actually worked out even better because we were able to focus even more on improving our arcade scene and I am happy to say we captured the liveliness better than we could have imagined. Overall, the arcade scene really captures the mall atmosphere exceptionally to the point.

I cannot believe we have already made it to this day, it was been such an amazing opportunity to create our own story and actually make it come to life. Thank you guys so much for staying up to date on all of our progress and achievements. I am so happy to say that the FINAL PRODUCT OF FORSAKEN IS COMING VERY SOON! With that being said, stay updated with us. Thank you so much for reading our Day 3 of Shooting! See you guys next time!

Representation of Forsaken

Hello Bloggers! Today, I am so happy to share with you guys the several different types of representations that we utilized in Forsaken! This will most definitely provide you guys with more insight on our characters and the whole atmosphere in our film opener and I can't wait for you guys to learn! Join us today as we talk about all there is of the representations throughout our film with Kendrick and the different themes that have made this film so perfect!

So as we dive into specifics, our film is mainly intended for teenagers, particularly ones who relate to the themes of friendship, self-discovery, and emotional experiences. This story first of all starts in the adventurous mall and this portrays the warmth of friendships. However,  we see the rapid switch in the whole mood as we begin to see the loneliness and isolation experienced by our protagonist. This creates so much appeal to viewers who enjoy a complete plot twist and also having a really easy-to-understand film. This film is not the light-hearted action comedy that you would think, and we don't see any exaggerated characters or silly humor. Instead, Forsaken looks at the complexities of human emotion. This would also be so much more connected to individuals who feel disconnected from society or feeling the agony of being left out of things.

Forsaken is mainly telling the story of Kendrick, a teenager that we see is feeling lonely and wants to connect with others. His experiences show the emotional challenges that lots of people in this age group are facing in society, allowing this story to be realistic and more relatable towards our viewers. Instead of having the teenagers happy and rebellious in this film, we take a unique approach as we have a complex reality between both joy and feeling isolated. It focuses on characters more with depth and avoids stereotypes, providing an emotional journey that feels more authentic.

Another good aspect is that the visuals within our film match the story's tone so well! The scenes are bright and full of color, with lively outfits and fun interactions that create that feeling of belonging. As the story progresses throughout the opener, we see that complete shift in color and this just dramatically portrays the ending. We see the use of dim lighting and close-up shots that just emphasize the major challenges that Kendrick is facing. This takes Kendrick to such a difficult time that he reflects his inner emptiness and one thing that we are trying to show in Forsaken is that as a teenager and just a young person in general we should always achieve to be carefree and happy in life. It acknowledges the many heavy feelings of loneliness, showing the hardness that the search for friendships can entail. We believe that Kendrick's story is very well-organized and does not need any major changes.

Thank you bloggers for joining us in the representation of Forsaken! Stay tuned for the next post... more details on our day 3 of filming to come! We will see you guys then!

The Latest Filming Updates on Forsaken

Greetings bloggers and welcome back! Today I have some unfortunate news regarding our filming of Forsaken. So, as we had discussed in our previous post, we were going to have our Day 3 of Filming on Saturday, January 25th, but sadly me and my partner Alexander were unable to make it due to scheduling conflicts on that day. With both of us missing, this made it impossible for the rest of the team to continue filming on this day as we would be down an actor and an additional camera-man. However, don't stress because as a team we have decided to reschedule this filming date to the next Saturday, February 1st. I know this is very disappointing as we were just about to wrap up our filming for Forsaken and as a team we hate to have to push the date for it as we are so eager to get it done and to get to wrapping up the editing as well. But we as a team are not going to stress and actually take this weekend to reflect on where we are at filming-wise and help us project what else we need to get done.

Even though this delay is very frustrating towards all of us, this is not the ending of Forsaken. This weekend will help us to nail down a plan to make our filming optimal for next weekend and we can't wait to give you guys more insight into that! So as a team we will meet and talk more into specifics of our filming and how we can improve things from when we did our first filming of these scenes. I am happy to announce that our next scene that we will be filming, one of my favorites, will be at the Arcade and this is just such a monumental and exciting experience for Kendrick and we can't wait to film that next weekend! I promise this day will not hurt our filming process but make it even better as we strategize several ideas for our next scene! I appreciate all of your patience and understanding of the unfortunate news that we have today.

Thank you for reading today's post bloggers and I will catch you guys for further updates and excitement on our filming of Forsaken! See you then!

Updated Storyboard for Forsaken

Welcome back bloggers! As we are in the process of doing reshoots and changing ideas with our film, I wanted to give updates on our projection of the film especially with the storyboard. We had previously shown you a preliminary sketch of the entirety of our film opener but as we see with any production, there will absolutely be lots of changes from what we brainstormed and the reality when we actually started filming. Anyways, I am here to break it down for you guys and talk more in-depth about the changes that have occured so far with many different factors. Continue reading as we talk about our new storyboard!

Firstly, we are seeing a different starting scene for the beginning of our film opener. We have already filmed this out on our previous day 2 of filming but to break it down, we are starting it off with an establishing shot as that is just a perfect component to show the location of where most of our film opener is going to be at and just helps set the atmosphere as well. As a team, we decided to include this additional shot because we feel it is such an essential component to help showcase the setting.  Regarding specifically sounds, it was exceptionally windy, as I had discussed was an issue on that day of filming, so we are seeing different changes in sound since the wind was very loud. This noise is considered an uncontrollable noise as we were not even expecting it to be that windy that day but it really just expresses the reality of what actually happens when we start filming rather than when we were in the planning phase. Additionally, that day we saw that natural lighting was such a substantial component and that is also included as we show our establishing shot.

Furthermore, another additional shot that we included was with Kendrick as he was approaching the mall and we still are hearing the loud wind throughout this scene. It was a static shot as we had no camera movement, it was just focusing on the character's confusion and helps us to make a transition towards Kendrick going on his phone. This change has overall really helped the smoothness of the film and especially since that was a problem that we had discussed before we are so greatful that this shot helped us work this scene out better. This scene also utilizes natural lighting, especially since we are still outside of the mall. Moreover, in our next updated scene, we included a low-angle shot as Kendrick is going on his phone and just like the last one it helps pan all of the events out so smoothly. We have Kendrick on his phone and then you can see his friend, Wyatt, tapping his shoulder and I cannot express how much this shot just helps us to expand out into the next scene, it was just such an amazing idea that we had thought of.

Moreover, as we take a look into our next edited scenes, we have a medium shot and this is right after Kendrick is on his phone. This shot was a great addition as it allows for us to see Kendrick and his friends, shaking hands and talking throughout this part of the opener. In this scene, we will be hearing these characters conversating, creating this first dialogue part of the film. I also want to add that this is a static shot as well so you will see that their is no movement at all. Following this, we have our next shot which is going to be a full shot as Kendrick and his friends are walking towards the mall door. You will definetly see the high presence of wind here not just with the sounds but also with the characters as they are getting so blown with their clothes and hair going all over the place. Lastly, in the following scene we utilized dollying-in to just really allow this scene to flow well.

Additionally, our next shot will be the protagonist putting on his headphones and continuing to wear them as he walks into the mall. In this scene, we plan to use a dolly-out and full shot to help show them walking inside and allows for so much smoothness. This is a great scene as it just gets us already in the energy that we are going for. I also just wanted to add this scene starts our soundtrack for our opener! This is such an exciting part, one of our first songs that we are using throughout the film. Next, as we continue to the next shot, we have a static full shot as they are walking into the mall. I personally love this scene so much as it is just one of the many scenes that adds emphasis to the excitement of all our characters. You will definetly see how thrilled they are to explore this whole mall. In this scene we will also begin to introduce the crowd sounds as they enter the mall.

Finally, we have our final edited scene! This scene is going to be a pan shot to the left to showcase the entire mall and also shows us the character's happiness as well. They are so much in awe that they don't even know where to go first. This scene is taken in the middle of the food court as well so they might try to check that out first. We are going to continue hearing the mall crowd noise within this scene as well. Thank you so much bloggers for reading this eventful updated storyboard. We have discussed so many important new scenes that we added and we are so happy that we did, it just helps this whole opener to flow so much better. But that is a wrap for today and I will see you guys in the next post!

Group Dynamics

Greetings Bloggers! Today, we are so excited to talk more about our group dynamics and how it is shaping up so far as we go along our film! Behind the camera's we have been having such an amazing time with filming and getting to know each other and we have done really well in coordinating the filming, capturing great shots, and keeping everyone on the same page. I love how my team with Marcus and Alexander, are able to give such prominent feedback and just have a consensus on everything. We all have such a hard-working mindset which has helped us maximize this reshooting process and has helped us to make so much progress in the little time that we have in filming each time at the mall. Our friendships have also grown really well throughout this production and even with our guest actors, Freddy and Raul, they have been another great addition to our team! With their amazing acting and me and Marcus's great technological skills, we make such a great team!

We are thrilled and can't wait to have this teamwork continue. Even through different struggles that may come up in the production process, we are up for the challenges and confident that our team will be great! With our great communication skills and just amazing team chemistry, I am so thrilled to work with all of my team members. We are so excited to see how our teamwork will help us to create a great film opener! Thank you bloggers for reading more on our team dynamics and we will see you all in the next post!

Day Two of Shooting Forsaken!!!

Greetings bloggers and welcome back! Join us today for DAY TWO of filming our masterpiece, Forsaken! It is finally that time so let's jump right into it! As we had discussed previously, we had a character change and just really wanted to retake different shoots for the pace and smoothness of the film. So today is that day and I am so glad to tell you that we are so much more satisfied with today's final product! We unfortunately were not able to film everything today but we will be continuing to do more reshoots on our final day...DAY 3 which we plan to do on Saturday, January 25th! Additionally, there were lots of challenges that we faced on our Day 2 of filming and I will talk more about that throughout this blog.

Firstly, we had all discussed and agreed to meet at 2:30PM for our Day 2 and that would give us room to maximize our scenes. Our partner, Marcus, was running a little late which is totally fine because we were still able to accomplish a lot of work in this time. For the day one of filming, I did not speak about this previously but I was not there in person due to scheduling conflicts but, I am so glad I was able to help Marcus behind the camera and come up with different ideas to help this opener become even greater! On a side note, for the experiences within the Day 1 posts, I had collaborated with my team and we talked specifically about lots of details so I could still have some background and talk to you guys more about our filming process!

As soon as we got to the mall, it was VERY windy and with filming a few shots outside, we could already tell that this could be a potential conflict. These heavy winds not only affected the appearance of the characters, with their hair and clothes blowing all over the place, but also effected audio greatly when we were playing it back. Despite these conflicts, we did manage to make the film look good with introducing background music since our sound was compromised and this actually worked out way better to set the overall mood and express the excitement. Everything worked out well!

At the same time, when we were filming outside, we were trying to perfect a transition to make such a smooth exit to the next scene. After lots of failed attempts and lots of laughter, as we just kept making the same mistake over and over, we finally got our transition figured out as we just moved to an alternative approach which worked out even better. Even though these challenges were frustrating in the moment, we are so thrilled that everything panned out perfectly and honestly just a successful Day 2. We ended up getting through half of the reshoots which we are beyond greatful that we did. We are so much more satisfied with this final product rather than our first takes of it. We are seeing that as we take more time and tackle these scenes day-by-day, the efficiency and smoothness of our film is way better than how it was before.

Thank you for reading on our Day 2 OF FILMING! Stay tuned for Day 3 and other furture updates on our project and we will see you in the next post!

Lighting

Welcome back bloggers! Today we are going to be discussing one of the several key components of our film...Lighting. As you will for sure see, lighting plays such an important role in our opener, Forsaken, as it helps to capture the overall atmosphere that we are trying to portray. Especially with being in settings such as the arcade, there is a lot of crucial lighting that helps with creating such a vibrant atmosphere. I can't wait to go in-depth on the specifics of lighting throughout our project and even a projection of how it could be if we had a greater budget.

We are in the process of beginning our reshoots for our film and it is really crucial for us to focus more on portraying the greatness of our film and enhancing previous scenes. With lots of changes to come in the characters and the realism of our film, lighting is going to be a very important aspect. With that being said I would like to further talk about the lighting choices that we are using throughout several settings.

In the film opener, we will be incorporating artificial lighting to establish a radiant and familiar setting within the mall. We see that this specific lighting helps us to visualize the mall in such an amazing way especially, within the arcade. Throughout the mall, this type of lighting brings in so many important visualizations and helps to create the overall atmosphere and mood between all different activities and interactions. We see that the glow from the mall's artificial lighting creates a warm and welcoming feeling, leading to a refreshing mood. Furthermore, we will see that the scene does start outside the mall which is where we see the natural type of lighting, enhancing the focus on the outdoor surroundings. Both artificial and natural lighting have made this film become even more greater than we could have imagined it is actually just amazing of how it all comes together!

In addition, we utilize low-key lighting in one of our very important scenes in Kendrick's bedroom and that really just sets the saddening mood that we are going for when he wakes up from his dream. We also utilized fill lighting and the combination of both of them creates such an isolated environment to really highlight the emotional challenges that he is going through as compared to how he felt in his dream. As we can see, lighting not only helps the scenes look better but it actually helps in portraying and telling the whole narrative in such an improved way.

Lastly, regarding our equipment, we never utilized major film equipment since it would be quite difficult to set it up and to being it around the mall. As a team, to maximize these scenes, we decided utilizing a phone is perfect so we can capture these different scenes both easily and efficiently as we take a portable approach. Luckily, since the mall already has great artificial lighting, everything worked out greatly with no additional lighting sources needed. This creates such a smooth and flexible environment for our filming process and still captures the atmosphere on point for our film.

Alright, that is a wrap for today bloggers, thank you for joining us as we talk more about lighting! We will see you guys next time for more important updates!

Forsaken Editing

Greetings bloggers, and welcome back! I have so many updates for you guys, and I am so happy to give you insight on our approaches to editing our film opener, Forsaken. We are getting more and more structured with this film day by day, and we are so thrilled to have you guys along with us on this journey. Anyway, let's talk about some basics on our editing. The whole team, Marcus, Alexander, and I, are coming together and doing the editing, which allows us to get so many different perspectives, helping us to make this film so great. As a team, we have decided to use two different editing applications to maximize the experience of this film, and those are going to be Premiere Pro and iMovie. Continue with me on this journey, and I will go into more specifics on editing!

As I discussed in recent posts, we are still making adjustments to our filming so that we can get the necessary footage for our opener. We are planning on doing reshoots of lots of scenes throughout the film since after we have seen all the footage together, it looked unnatural and rushed and we absolutely do not want that for our film so stay tuned for day two of shooting where we can hopefully compile all of our footage and get everything wrapped up. Even though we have this obstacle, we are still going to edit the introduction of the film as we have already finished our retakes on that section, and we are all satisfied with it.

I had success with implementing the different transitions and effects for all of the different scenes that we had finalized. Like I said we are going to be editing and incorporating more into this opener once we film the last few shots. Also with utilizing different filters throughout the film, I found it so much better to just add on to the vibrancy in different scenes that we are going for. You guys are in for a surprise with all of the different editing styles that we incorporated into this opener and we are so happy to be close to the ending point of our production for our opener. We are still in the beginning phases of the editing process but I and my team are dedicated to making this film amazing, we have so many more ideas that we are going to be implementing in addition to the editing that we have done today and we are so excited to let you guys know how it goes. I am super confident in my team's abilities and I can't wait to share more information with you guys.

Thank you so much bloggers for joining us on another day of our journey! See you guys next time for more updates!

Forsaken Title Sequence

Greetings bloggers! Today, let's talk about the inspirations behind the title sequence we utilized in our film opener, Forsaken. My partners and I were contemplating what exactly would make our title specifically stand out to our wide-ranging audience. After investigating several different fonts, we found several different types that fit our expectations, and with that being said, today I would like to go into the ones that I personally selected and which fonts were utilized for our title.

Firstly, I love this font type called Sprague as I feel like it has a great property of grasping the attention of others and bringing in a unique style towards our film opener. It not only stands out but creates a sense of well-development and originality, and overall, I love the effect it has. When I brought it up to my partners, we were immediately drawn towards it. However, my partners did believe that it should be a font that stands out and looks more definitive in shape to give off more of a structured and echoing approach. This led us to our next font...

This font looks absolutely great, and I love the way it gives more of a modern perspective. We were harping on having this one, but also liked the design in the Sprague one, so we were trying to figure out a way to incorporate both. They both have amazing properties that would definitely help our movie stand out, and these are definitely great candidates. After trying to think of a way, we decided to create a mixture of both of them, creating both a modern and stylish approach.

Finally, this was our title sequence for Forsaken, and as you can see, it is a really nice mixture of both these fonts that I had proposed, along with other fonts that my partners chose. I love how this turned out, and the entire process behind figuring it out truly helped us to get this spectacular end product. Thank you guys so much for tuning in on this portion of the film production process. We will catch you guys next time!!!

Sound for Forsaken

Welcome Back bloggers! I am so beyond excited to give you all more information on the different unique sounds that we are going to be using for our opener, Forsaken. The sound that we are going to be incorporating will create a both engaging and realistic atmosphere towards the audience and we are so thrilled to get more into these different sounds as it is one of the crucial elements towards our opener.

As a team, we have reviewed and considered lots of ideas towards the sounds with many different approaches towards this drama. You will see that most of our sounds do provide the realistic environment of the mall and even the factors of the nature outside as well. We are also brainstorming the idea of adding some man-made sounds into the film as well so stay tuned for that. We are aiming more closely to creating the unique environmental sounds within the beginning of the film opener as well as the noisy background that we would typically experience at the mall, to really express the realism that we are going for. Furthermore, all of the other diegetic sounds are planned to be recorded by the cameras within our scenes.

In addition, with our non-diegetic sounds that will be heard by only the audience, we plan to include different music throughout the greater majority of the film to really give off the different tones that we want to emphasize. In most of the film, we want to give off the exciting, energetic mood as they are going through the mall. Our team has not yet started the sound editing process since we still have very important scenes that are still in the process of being filmed, but since our whole team, Marcus, Alexander, along with myself, will be editing, we have decided that we are going to use Premiere Pro and other apps like iMovie for the overall editing as well as the sound editing and we will talk more about that in the next post! We have hopes on using different copyrighted music but if we are not able to then we plan on just using copyright-free music which we can still work around. Lastly, we do anticipate using sound effects from YouTube as well as other websites which will be linked below...

Day 1 of Shooting Forsaken!!!

Hello Bloggers, I am so happy to make this announcement of our 1st day on set or our film opener, Forsaken. This brings so many different emotions to our whole team of how we are turning this crazy story into reality! Everything was coming together to rapidly and we are so happy to continue to provide you more and more updates until we are finished. We were of course nervous on a personal level as well and had unexpected moments where shots were too bright but for the most part it was a great first experience. We can't wait for what this whole production has for us! Now, like I was explaining a little bit there were some challenges and I just want to get into our progress of Forsaken so far.

Firstly, we had struggled at the beginning of the day trying to figure out exactly what song would make the beginning scene and all of this come together. We all agreed on just doing background music but even with that, we had issues because it was in the branches of being way too intense or just not impactful enough. The time had gone so fast and we were wasting so much of it on figuring out what to do with the sound. We all decided to just wait for retakes which wasn't the plan we were going for but I am well sure that we will make an even better scene doing this. Even though it was hard to just leave it we know it's just the production process and everything will piece in together at the end.

Additionally, our next challenge was creating different transitions between shots. We really wanted our transitions to be nice and smooth and really appeal to the audience. It required lots of different takes with the right timing and positioning to get it right. We attempted to do so many pan shots that even watching it over threw us off. But in the end, everything came together and we are in a better spot to work with in regards to the flow.

However, things started to get better when filming at the different locations and that shot definitely got much easier. When we went to places such as H&M, Vans, and the arcade, we found the filming to be much easier as everything was just coming together with their lighting and it did not require as much struggle as we had at other places. It was so fun when filming in these places and one of the workers at Vans had even come up to us and said that our filming was awesome! It was definitely amazing capturing all of these different moments and these scenes required not much effort which had helped out time management. This helped towards the end so much to balance everything out!

Lastly, we finished everything up at my friend Freddy's house, and it had been such a perfect timing and scene to film the isolation that Kendrick had been feeling from waking up from this dream. His room having such a melancholic atmosphere is exactly what we had planned for since day one and brought so many thrilling feelings to us as our vision was coming to reality. Throughout, we kept the lighting off and the shadows that had been reflected from his windows also helped so much, it was perfect! Leaving everything off like this just really gave us that feeling of reassurance and we felt awesome ending the day!

One last update, after an in-depth review of the footage, me and the team realized that we were going to have to fix some shots as it wasn't the idea that we were going for. They were well done but when it came to the flow of things and putting everything all together, we wanted to make the film more smoothly organized. It was disappointing to us that the idea we were going for did not fully come to life but I am happy to announce that we are planning to do reshoots. We have decided to meet up again on Sunday, January 19th, to finally finish the filming process and since we want to really focus on some parts that we missed and really add depth to the feeling behind it, as well as our challenges that I discussed with the transitions and shots. It will definitely be a busy day for us but we are so excited to expand on what we have and add greater depth to our film and make Forsaken even better.

Thank you guys for all of your support since day one and we are so excited to talk more about filming in the next blog.

Changes in the cast of Forsaken

Welcome Back Bloggers

I have some new updates with our actors on set of Forsaken. unfortunatly, we have lost one of our guest actors, ryan, who had been playing kendrick's friend, bobby. ryan was one of our friend's helping out but not in our media studies class and he said that due to his pretty active schedule, he is unable to continue in acting for our opener. this was pretty dissappointing to find out and he will be really missed on set. but we do plan to have changes in effect that will resolve any confusion...

So your probably wondering of how we can just have a character in the first part and get rid of him. Due to issues in filming on our Day 1, we had already planned to cutout the footage that we got and redo it but fortunatly, that makes our lifes easier since we will have a fresh start and the character development behind Bobby will not exist. This really helps out our situation since we have to reshoot anyways but we want you guys to please disregard any of the character development discussed about Bobby in the previous posts since like I said we are just starting fresh. With Bobby not being in our opener, we do expect to focus more on our current two actors that are also friends of Kendrick, and just really pay more attention and detail to their development and how they will be impactful in Kendrick's life. I know this is a lot to take in but trust me our team will work effectively to make this change not an issue in the overall narrative. Thank you for bearing with us in this huge change and for all of your suppport! Catch you guys in the next blog!

Forsaken's Supporting Characters

Welcome back, fellow bloggers! I have some exciting news to share with you guys about Forsaken. I am so happy to announce that we have made a definitive plan of our characters for our film opener and I can't wait for them to bring this idea to existence! Are you guys ready to meet these characters and know their personalities in-depth that will help our film opener? Ready or Not here we go...

Wyatt:

I am so excited to announce our first supporting character, Wyatt. Before we get into the specifics, I am happy to share that my partner Alexander bravely took on this role and can't wait to blow your minds with this film. Now, let's go ahead and explain more details on his character.

Our very first character, Wyatt, will be wearing a black T-shirt and light-washed jeans, which emphasizes his values of comfort and feeling relaxed. This character is very charismatic throughout the film and gives off such a positive feeling when being around. You can really see his high and motivating energy shifting the mood, anywhere he goes. He makes others feel so special and is a very important character towards Kendrick.

Bobby:

As we move on to our next character, we have my friend Ryan, who is not in AICE Media Studies this year but was in it previously last year and he has been so generous to offer help in filming this opener. Now, let's get into the details of this character. This is Bobby, you will recognize him wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants throughout the film. His tall body and casual posture really express his calm and chill personality. In this film opener, Bobby is calm and unbothered, making others more drawn to him. He is so relaxed and is the type of person to go with the flow. He enlightens all of the others with such a nonchalant personality that he is such a great addition to this friend group in our film opener. Wyatt is such a vital character to elaborate on the calmness that we are going for in these scenes and is such a funny guy.

Ericson:

Lastly, we have our last new character, Ericson, who will be played by our friend Raul who goes to West Broward High School instead of Everglades High, he has so generously offered to play this character and helping us in making this whole film come to life. Anyways, our new character, Ericson, has a skinny kind of build as well as a hunched posture, really outlining his introverted personality. He will be wearing a green jacket with white sleeves adding a vintage outlook towards him but yet remaining very casual. His well-balanced character is projected with his curly, well-cut hair, projecting both casual and effortless which he brings throughout the film. We see that Kendrick will take more and more comfort within these characters as they help establish a sense of belonging towards him, further highlighting his isolation. This really just elaborates on the mental struggles that he is going through and these characters are crucial to the entirety of this plot. I am so happy to announce this final character that will be completing the piece of our film opener idea!!! Thank you bloggers and we will talk more specifics in the next blog.

Color in Forsaken

Welcome Back! Today, we are going to discuss the importance of color in our film and I am so thrilled to talk about the many different scenes and all of the vibrant colors that are going to be incorporated. I will also be going into how the theory of color also persuaded us in this film opener to help things pop out better. This just makes the overall atmosphere so appealing for our opener and I can't wait to break down and show you the step-by-step process.

Firstly, one of our scenes will be at an arcade in the mall and honestly this is going to be one of my favorites with the colorful scenery and all of the action that is going to be happening. With that being said, in the arcade, we are going to see lots of lighting, specifically red as it gives off high energy, joy, and excitement. With all of the warm hues that are going to be in this scene, you will definitely feel the adrenaline that is going to go into this film. Reflecting back, there will also be orange colors to show the happiness of the protagonist in this dream that he is experiencing. All of these colors are going to play important aspects of the final product of this film to show off the happiness of our protagonist, Kendrick, and also indicates a change that is about to happen. Following this scene of excitement, we see darker tones of color that are going to be used to move towards our upcoming scene. This helps to elaborate the shift in tone and foreshadow potential conflicts that are about to happen to Kendrick making it very unsettling.

In addition, I wanted to bring up our costuming and how the color of the clothes that the characters wear is going to be a vital contribution to our scenes. The protagonist, Kendrick, is going to be wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. This expresses the innocence and cleanliness of him symbolized by his white clothing, showing the morally well-balanced character that he is. Myself, along with my partners, Marcus and Alexander, believe the blue jeans provides a great addition to really express that comfort feeling that we are trying to go for. Furthermore, it will also be an important element towards the end of this opener as it will really show the sadness that Kendrick is going to experience. This is also being used as another opportunity to foreshadow the scenes that are about to develop soon.

Lastly, with our supporting characters' we are trying to keep the same mood consistent and with them wearing similar attire, it will help the whole narrative to come all together smoothly. To give you an idea, there will be two people who are wearing black hoodies and sweatpants, as well as another person wearing a green/white jacket along with blue jeans. Utilizing the black will really help to add on that sense of mystery that we are going for. Also, the dark clothing helps to set apart our main character from our supporting characters as Kendrick utilizes lighter attire, helping to foreshadow the tension in his reality. The green/white jacket from the other character is also a really great touch as it evokes a connection to growth with the green and clarity with the white. This unique costuming allows for deeper understanding of the character's role and personality.

Thank you so much for reading today's blog post! We will have more exciting details on Forsaken very soon.

Main Character Analysis

Hello bloggers, and welcome back! Today, we are going to be taking a look at our main character, Kendrick, in our film opener. We will explore several details that help bring our narrative completely together. Continue reading to learn more in-depth about our protagonist and his life, which will piece together our narrative.

Physical Characteristics:

Firstly, Kendrick's physical characteristics give us so much insight into his life and the whole background behind him. Several features that he has helped to really have a deeper understanding of  his mind, showing off lots of curiosity and elaborating on his thoughts throughout the film. We will see that Kendrick's entire connections and body language show off his true character. His dark hair parting aligns with his glasses, giving off such an expression of him being a well-rounded individual. While walking through the mall, we see at times his glasses give off a reflection of light, highlighting his overall importance in the film.

Costuming:

Additionally, in the past, we were brainstorming having Red color for clothing to draw more attention, but we found that it was better to have casual colors to express the environment in which the film is set. With that being said, we have decided that, specifically, Kendrick's style showcased throughout the film will express his comfort throughout the film. It helps exemplify the enjoyment he has. We are so happy to provide more insight into the costuming that we are having in this film, as it is just such a crucial aspect that we have been reflecting on.

Personality/Psychological State:

As we reflect on this topic, this is a crucial aspect as our whole film opener is based on the psychological state of our protagonist. I previously discussed back in the first developing stages,  that this is primarily about Kendrick and his loneliness as he does not have any friends. These scenes just really emphasize the painful truth of Kendrick's life and it not being as entertaining and fun as he wants it to be. It creates so much isolation of Kendrick towards the outside world which we can see is taking a toll on him as he is lacking the importance of meaningful relationships within his life. We can just see overall that psychologically, he is having a rough time with making friends which was highly expressed through his dream, and he just wishes that this was not the actuality of his life. This is such a scary part of his life and gives us insight into the issues people face mentally.

Thank you guys so much for reading in on this important analysis update for our film opener and we will see you next time for more updates!
