Hello everyone, and Welcome back to my blog! Today, I had the pleasure of doing a Movie Analysis on one of my childhood favorite shows, "The Incredibles 2" and we are going to look really behind the scenes of these shots. In The Incredibles 2, several different shots are used to show lots of feelings that are occurring, such as fear. I am very eager to talk about the amazing visually stunning scenes and the real emotion they are representing by using different angles. They used many unique elements such as a low-angle shot, a two-shot, an over-the-shoulder shot, Aerial shots, a mid-shot, and several other views to really compile the movie together as a whole. Utilizing these different shots has really helped to put this movie all together.
Now, let's look at one of the low-angle shots presented in the movie. Really taking a more in-depth look at the shot, you can see the realization of using this shot, in this case, they used it to showcase something of great power, and specifically in the movie, it is a scary scene as this evil machine is creating destruction across town. Honestly, when looking at this and analyzing these shots you can see the creativity behind what these filmmakers conduct in making these different scenes.
Next, let's take a look at one of the over-the-shoulder scenes and really look closely at how this captures the moment of seriousness. In this scene, they are showcasing the intimacy as they are trying to figure out the plans of the antagonists It also outlines the relationship between the characters and the drama behind it. Again, just looking at these key aspects really shapes together the entirety of the scene.
Let's also take a look at the Aerial shots in the movie specifically at them capturing the powerfulness of one of the antagonists. This scene really goes into the fears that the protagonists are feeling and utilizing this view really shows the robot having an upper hand in this case. I love how they emphasized all of the worries that are occurring in the scene. It is just so cool to me about all of this that is happening behind one of my favorite movies that I had never known about.
Additionally, we look at a two-shot and it is just really like the others, expressing the emotions behind the characters and in this case giving off a heroic sense. They really did a great job just angling this out to show the protagonists' planning and strategizing how to fight one of the machines. This is a really great example to contribute to the plot as a whole.
In this scene, we have a mid-shot angle and this is used to show the expressions of the character and how he looks concerned about something. Using angles like these just helps tell the story in a so much better way, adding detail to the scene. Also, this shot really exposes the background as well and helps project the character's stance. This is a really great approach in these cases to show off the characters' realizations and to outline them.
